Hi, My name is Simon. I joined TASSO in grade 7 when I was 12 years old, having played Steelpan at Rosedale Public School from Grade 2 to 6 with Salmon Cupid as our steel pan teacher. I loved music because of the instrument I played. I’ve often played Six Bass, but like to play other pans. I also found out that steel pan was played at my middle school (for a time, I genuinely had thought that steel pan was only played in Toronto at schools where Salmon taught!). Now I’m in Grade 8 I also play the tenor saxophone and do lots of athletics like short track speed skating, soccer, football, volleyball and rowing, while trying to be a good all-round
student. I’m looking forward to the trip to Spain and what possibilities
the world offers after.
