Hello, my name is Vladimir and I began playing steel pan since the age of 4. I was a student at Rosedale Public School from 2003 to 2011, where I played pan each year in class until I graduated in grade 6, and I joined TASSO. I have been a part of TASSO ever since, and I have brought my love for steel pan with me to York University where I play the steel pan and piano as my main instruments. I have been lucky to travel with the band to Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Scotland, Australia, and Spain where we participated in fesitvals and competitions with other international music groups. I am now in my 4th year of university, going to teacher’s college next year, and for the past few years, I have continued to help Salmon teach pan to the students each Friday, as my role went from student to teaching assistant. It has and always will be my favourite extra-curricular activity that I have been able to do in my life.
