Buñol, Spain
Toronto All Stars Steel Orchestra (TASSO) will perform as a part of the WASBE (World Association for Symphonic Bands & Ensembles) Conference Fringe Festival in Buñol. Buñol is a small town in the provenience of Valencia most famous for its celebration of La Tomatina every year. This municipality lies 40 km / 25 miles west of the city of Valencia.

“Board the bus to Alicante. We were able to see the beautiful change of biome to desert mountains. We then arrived in Alicante to witness the beautiful beach…. we loaded the coach and off we went to our second performance in Moriara. We shared performance space with a local Steelband called the Poco Loco steelpan band, Then, with our new friends, we enjoyed a late night dinner at Las Gaviotas to finish off another amazing day in Spain.”

“The Valencia Concert Hall is situated in the old river bed of the Turia. It was constructed in 1987 and is one of the banner buildings of modern Valencia, within what’s known as the vanguard architecture movement in the city. One of its most distinguishing features is the glass enclosure that looks out on the gardens in the Turia. From here you can watch the fountains that have been designed to spout to the beat of the music heard from the Palau throughout the garden. The building was built specifically to promote culture and that’s exactly what it has done.“
